Small selection, and the ladies who work there are not friendly. I will take the drive to Madison to visit RJ Julia where the environment is much more welcoming and the selection can't be beat.
When people say they cherish bookstores, they are thinking of places like Breakwater Books. A comfortable, well-organized store with an excellent selection of books and wonderful staff.
A cute little shop, fun to browse, but on the pricier side and I was hoping for a larger selection of children's books.
The ladies who work there are very friendly and helpful. They will order if they do not have the title you need/want. I have ordered three books in 3 weeks and they were in quickly and still at the price they would have sold it if it had been on the shelf. The store is nice and we'll organized.
This is one of the great independent bookstores - on the small side, but a great selection and very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Best of all, they always seem to have something new that I haven't heard of, which I invariably end up loving. The kid's section is very good too.
